Cydanu Troopers by RolfPlus Cydanu Troopers by RolfPlus
Lt. Stephen "Pike" Pikeman of the Cydanian 802nd Special Services Division, and a mechanized soldier attached to his unit on loan from the 34th Mech infantry.

The 802nd, and Lt. Pike's company in particular, are the special division tasked with hunting the infamous and widely feared remnants of the 57th Heavy Panzergrenadiers.... my CrossBolt unit =D

Lt. Pike is kind of like Riko's arch enemy... the history and confrontations will come to light when I get off my lazy ass and finish more of these ideas bouncing around in my head.

On a technical note, my new copics are absolutely amazing. I experimented with layering on the mech suit (just using one tone for most of it, actually), and it's pretty nice.

This drawing actually sat around 70 percent finished, uncolored, for about two months. I'm glad I picked it up again! =D

I love the way both of them are designed. Especially the girl with the power suit. It genuinely reminds me of a cross between Halo's
Mjolnir armor; and the armor the marines from Starcraft wear. Yet it still retains an identity of its own. Especially with those missile packs and floodlights situated on the back and shoulders. I am wondering what that pointy object is on the arm though, another missile of sorts?
Lt. Pike doesn't look lacking either, defiantly ready for whatever mission he's been assigned. Read the description, sounds like there is some sort of story that goes along with these two characters. I would love to read it.

Amazing work!

Thank you!  The pointy bit on the left arm is a pile bunker (I got the idea from Front Mission), a hydraulic piston attached to a spike with a secondary 'punch' from firing a (very large) blank shotgun shell.  It has a spring for retracting it, and barring it gets stuck, the bolt can be cycled manually (visible next to the ejection port for the shell).  It's intended as an emergency stop-gap measure for protecting the mechanized suits from their Attraxian counterparts, Heavy Shock Troopers (infiltration/terror units with heavy armor that fight hand-to-hand).

Hmm, the mechanized doesn't look too sure of themselves do they...

Very cool stuff mate. How on earth do you manage to get markers to look good after scanning?
